February 26, 2024 – Our Calo Restaurant Tour was so much fun! One of our past Top ID winners, Christine van Rooy, designed the space and was our guest speaker. Thank you to all who attended and made the evening memorable.
January 31, 2024 – Thank you to all who came out to join us for the tour and event at the beautifully renovated Hilton Gaslamp! It was an evening to remember! We were all wowed with the stunning public space and guestroom design by Waldrop Nichols Studio. The layering of neutral tones and textures felt sophisticated, yet comfortable, while the introduction of over-scaled contemporary art, added pop and interest around every turn.
We were also honored to present Gensler San Diego with one of the 2024 Top ID awards. We will be celebrating them throughout the year. Congrats to you and your fabulous team!

October 3, 2023 – It was a successful evening indeed! OCMA hosted us at their awe-inspiring space. Since its founding, OCMA has been a leader in presenting and preserving the art of our time. Our panel of art experts from. Kalisher, DAC Art Consultants and Kevin Barry Art Advisors, gave us insights into curation and the importance of art in all spaces.
We then hosted our attendees at Avenue of the Arts Hotel for nibbles and cocktails. The consensus for the evening was an astounding âBrava!â
September 12, 2023 – Taco Tuesday Vendor Showcase – The Vendor Show was a great success!
The support to our region and to the local reps was appreciated. We had a fantastic turnout and all enjoyed amazing food from Tacos San Jose.

August 2, 2023 – Drag Queen Bingo – Drag Queen Bingo Night was a complete success!!
Harbour hosted us in their beautiful showroom. While guests got comfy, Rosemary Galore emceed the evening. Everyone had a great time filled with Bingo calling and laughter. Thanks to all who joined NEWH OC.
June 6, 2023 – Top ID 2023 – NEWH Orange County shared a spectacular evening celebrating with H. Hendy; honoring them with the Top ID award for 2023.
Experienced. Renowned. Driven. At Hendyâs core youâll find them leading the charge in interior architecture and design. Their studios specialize in Corporate Workplace, Lifestyle, Science & Technology, Currents, and Healthcare & Wellness.
Principal + Design Director, Felicia Hyde accepted the award.

February 6, 2023 – Restaurant Chat with Margee Drews went spectacularly! We had a great turn out for our first event of 2023 at Sol Cocina in Irvine. Margeeâs chat about designing restaurants was interesting and entertaining. Look for her newest upcoming project, the iconic Lido Theater in Newport Beach.
Sol Cocina served wonderful food and cocktails, while designers, students and vendors mixed and mingled. We appreciate everyone who came out and supported NEWH Orange County Region, including the LA Chapter.

November 29, 2022 – Our NEWH-OC Scholarship event was fabulous! Our event space The Shindy, did not disappoint. And the food and drinks from Trenta, were delicious. We had the pleasure of having the Davis Ink Groupâs, Davis & Andrea as speakers; they were thoroughly entertaining.
And of course, our main reason for being there, was presenting scholarships to our two winners, Shannon Bauer & Nina Krueger. We are excited to see where their dreams lead them.

October 19, 2022 – The NEWH-OC hosted a panel discussion at the Harbour Showroom. Thank you to all who made this evening perfect. Our multifamily panel included Julie Stark with CDC, Felicia Hyde with H Hendy and Maryanne Hibner with Hibner Design. Each shared their experiences with multifamily design and showed off projects. That was the running theme of our event last at the newly remodeled Marriott Vea Hotel Tour in Newport Beach, CA. This hotel is what sophistication at play looks like. A chic sanctuary created for relaxing and mingling, exquisitely designed by Gensler and HBA. Over looking the Pacific Ocean, the Vea was a spectacular venue to host our many guests. We connected with new friends and were reacquainted with old ones. Commitments were made, because we all love and believe in NEWH and its mission. May 23, 2022 – The NEWH-OC Top ID event at Solstice Restaurant in Irvine was spectacular!The weather was a bit chilly but the outdoor heaters kept us cozy. We honored and celebrated this years winner, Hibner Design Group. HDG is dedicated to creating distinctive, multidimensional spaces that redefine expectation. MaryAnne Hibner has built a team of experienced designers who are passionate about creating the perfect space for their clients.

March 28, 2022 – NEWH-OC’s first mixer of the year was a great success!! Even the rain couldnât keep us away. We gathered at Louis by the Bay in Newport Beach for cocktails, charcuterie and great conversations. The best part was having Ron Salisbury speak for us about his familyâs 100 years of service in the restaurant industry. Ron was very entertaining with his funny stories and nuggets of wisdom. December 6, 2021 – NEWH-OC Scholarship Awards Dinner – It was a perfect evening to celebrate the 2021 scholarship winners, on December 6, 2021. We were hosted at the Red âOâ Restaurant in Fashion Island, Newport Beach where our late Fall weather brought a chill. Celebrating with us and speaking many pearls of wisdom, was The Irvine Companyâs VP of Design, Bruno Viterbo. We were also honored to have one of our past scholarship winners, Stephanie Brooks, chat about her experience after her award. But the reason for this event was of course to celebrate our 2021 scholarship winners; Golsa Rajaei and Ayesha Mela. Golsa brought her husband along for support. She gave an excellent speech about her love of hospitality and how grateful she is to have the support of NEWH-OC. Unfortunately, Ayesha was unable to attend. We plan on celebrating her on a later date. We want to thank all who attended and brought gifts for Toys for Tots.
September 8, 2021 – NEWH/OC Region hosted a Summer Mix & Mingle at the Topside Roof Deck at Lido House. Guest speaker was Bob Olson with RD Olson Construction who talked about the Dana Point Harbor renovation project – an exciting new development in the OC. A great evening was had by all!

December 1, 2015 – NEWH/Orange County Region held its 2015 Scholarship Awards event at the Shorebreak Hotel with guest speaker Larry Broughton – founder and CEO of broughtonHOTELS. Congratulations to the three scholarship recipients: Samantha Renee Gallo-Nowlin – Orange Coast College; Jinhee Kim – San Diego State University; and Megan Eastman – New School of Architecture.
April 8-9, 2015 – 2015 – NEWH Orange & San Diego Counties Regional Groups Hospitality Fashion Challenge: âDesign in a Boxâ @BD West. Our third Runway was SOLD OUT! Friends of NEWH and members enjoyed an exciting evening of fashion and fun in support of NEWH Scholarship and programs for the Orange County and San Diego Regions. 18 Design teams fabricated garments and accessories using products donated by over 60 Industry Suppliers. The competition and event was a collaboration of Boutique Design, Hospitality Media Group and volunteers from the NEWH Orange County Region. March 20-21, 2014 – The NEWH Fashion Challenge design teams unveiled their entries at BDwest on Thursday, March 20th at the San Diego Convention Center. Courture fashions crafted from scraps of tile, carpet samples and other reusable design elements were donated by BDwest exhibitors. Garments were auctioned after winners were announced. 100% of the proceeds benefited the NEWH Scholarship Fund.
