Board of Directors | NEWH Inc.

The NEWH Inc. International Board of Directors (IBOD) provides governance, strategic oversight, and fiduciary responsibility for the global Organization.

This IBOD is responsible for safeguarding NEWH’s mission, ensuring financial and ethical accountability, and setting long-term direction in support of education, scholarships, leadership development, and global chapter alignment. Board members serve in a volunteer capacity and bring deep industry experience across hospitality, design, manufacturing, construction, and education.

Kathy joined NEWH in 2008 as a full time office assistant. She's currently working as a part membership coordinator. Kathy was born and raised in Chicago but lived in Wisconsin for about 17 years. She is now back living in the Northern Illinois area. Kathy has many years of experience in administrative office positions in the healthcare, construction, manufacturing, and temporary agency fields. Among Kathy's duties is database management and membership. Kathy is married to Kevin and has two grown children, Janine and Jim as well as a large extended family. She also has four wonderful grandsons Cameron, Landon, Logan, and James. When not at work, Kathy loves growing orchids, taking nature walks and visiting the botanical gardens, prairies, forest preserves and arboretums. She's a Cubs fan! She also enjoys being Kevin's sous chef in the kitchen.

Sarah has lived in Wisconsin her whole life. She lives in the city of Shawano with her husband Chris. They have 2 children, Leaf and Daisy. Sarah studied Information Processing at North Central Technical College for 2 years and graduated with a certificate. Sarah has worked in the grocery retail industry for 20+ years and most recently was the bookkeeper at the main grocery store in town. She also worked at American Medical Security for a few years but realized the commute to Green Bay wasn't for her (especially in the brutal Wisconsin winters). In Sarah's spare time she loves to garden with Chris as they continue to fill their yard with more and more gardens. They also love to explore Wisconsin and Michigan by visiting all the national, state and county parks that beautiful Wisconsin and the UP have to offer. She also loves to craft and take her dog Hazel for walks.

NEWH Canada Inc. is a separate, independent nonprofit organization operating in Canada.

While aligned with the global NEWH mission and values, NEWH Canada Inc. is governed independently and operates in accordance with Canadian nonprofit regulations. The Organization supports education, scholarships, leadership, and professional connection within Canada’s hospitality and adjacent industries.

NEWH Canada works collaboratively with NEWH Inc. to maintain shared standards, programming alignment, and cross-border connection, while ensuring local governance, financial oversight, and compliance remain specific to the Canadian context.

NEWH Staff

NEWH is supported by a dedicated staff team who ensure the Organization operates with clarity, consistency, and care across regions.

Working alongside volunteer leadership, NEWH staff provide continuity, operational expertise, and strategic support for chapters, boards, partners, and members worldwide. From scholarships and education to events, communications, finance, and membership, the staff team helps translate NEWH’s mission into day-to-day action.

This group is responsible for keeping programs moving, standards aligned, and systems functioning so that volunteers can focus on leadership, connection, and impact. While NEWH is proudly volunteer-led, it is staff-supported, ensuring the Organization remains professional, accountable, and scalable as it grows.

Together, staff and volunteers form the backbone of NEWH’s global network.
