P/Kaufmann Contract – Hybrid – New York, NY

The Product Data Coordinator is an integral member of the Design Studio Product Development Team, responsible for collecting, entering, and maintaining product data throughout the product lifecycle. In partnership with the Product Development Manager and Design Director, this role gathers product information from vendors, facilitates product testing, and helps to streamline product development from concept through launch. The person in this position plays a key role in our success by supporting business goals across diverse areas, including speed to market, sales effectiveness, and marketing impact. The ideal candidate combines expertise in data and project management systems with technical knowledge of textile attributes and experience in product development and studio archive management.

Key Responsibilities

Product Information and Lifecycle Systems Management

Data Management & Systems

  • Responsible for the input and upkeep of detailed technical specifications and product documentation in Smartsheet.
  • Maintain P/Kaufmann Contract’s Smartsheet product database to ensure accurate, complete, and consistent product information is available to users across all departments.
  • Track product development cycle in Smartsheet, from design concept through testing, ordering, sampling, and marketing, connecting timelines across departments for on-time launches.

Product Development & Quality Control

  • Manage the product testing and documentation process to ensure all products meet performance standards.
  • Oversee the organization and maintenance of the Design Studio’s physical fabric samples, files, and artwork.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Design, Operations, and Marketing to ensure data flows efficiently and aligns with market needs by tracking development phases and communicating issues to the appropriate departments promptly.

Special Projects

  • Oversee the creation of a Smartsheet data hub for custom product development in collaboration with IT.
  • Assist with data collection from textile vendors for MindClick’s annual sustainability assessment report with the custom woven product development team.
  • Act as the point of contact for outside sustainability data documentation and reporting consultants.
  • Assist in building and updating textile vendor scorecards.
  • Additional studio tasks as needed.

Your Team

  • Reporting to the Product Development Project Manager and Design Directors
  • Member of the Design Studio Product Development Team
  • Working cross-functionally with Custom Product Development, Operations, Marketing, Sales, and Quality Assurance teams

Required Skills and Experience

  • 3-5 years in a product development or project management role
  • Understanding of contract textile construction, performance requirements, testing, and finishing
  • Expertise in product data management or product lifecycle management software
  • Previous experience in product development or data management within the textile industry
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with internal stakeholders across departments and with external supplier partners
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams)

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Familiarity with MindClick or other sustainability data documentation and reporting databases
  • Understanding of emerging AI capabilities to streamline product data management, including best practices and limitations
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce or other CRM software

Work Schedule and Location: Full-time hybrid schedule includes four days in our NYC office and one remote work day.

Salary: $60,000-70,000, dependent on the selected candidate’s level of skill and experience relevant to the position. This position is eligible for an end-of-year, performance-based discretionary bonus.
