Monogram by Callison Releases Custom Carpet Line for Hospitality Needs
Monogram by Callison Collection features three distinct carpet lines
SEATTLE, January 05, 2015 – Monogram by Callison, a hospitality and interior design studio of global architecture and design firm Callison, has launched a luxury, custom carpeting line in partnership with Signature Hospitality Carpets (Signature). The Monogram by Callison Collection (The Collection) is the first product from the design studio, which is based in Scottsdale, Arizona. The Collection offers modern, custom carpeting that meets the sophisticated needs of luxury hospitality at an affordable price point.
“The Collection is a great opportunity to put our name on a product and show clients our full range of talent and capabilities as a hospitality design studio,” said Kathryn Mickel, Managing Principal at Monogram by Callison. “Creating a product line will forge new avenues for us in hospitality design while strengthening partnerships with outstanding companies like Signature.”
Influenced by the land art movement, The Collection has three distinct carpet lines. “Curvilinear” uses a playful, layering approach in aesthetic and color. “Organic” is a bolder design with fluid, wavy visuals, reflecting the laid-back vibe of beach and coastal resorts. Geometric and uniform in appearance, the “Linear” line is more applicable for urban settings. Seven accompanying color palettes were also created to complement The Collection.
“Our intent was to create a carpeting line that meets the needs of high-end hospitality while remaining flexible and customizable for designers,” said Monogram by Callison Director Melba Santos. Ms. Santos, along with the Monogram by Callison staff, created the designs from concept to execution.
The Collection was developed as iconic feature pieces to outfit hospitality congregation spaces, such as a ballroom, guestroom corridor or pre-function area. The carpet line’s repeat design, enabled by Signature’s ColorPoint Technology, uses tufted, multi-level loop construction and tip shearing to produce a cut-and-loop pile carpet, revealing a depth of color hues, as well as a duality of plush and coarse textures. The Collection is available for purchase from Signature.
Monogram by Callison previously collaborated with Signature for the major renovation of the JW Marriott Hotel in Mexico City, which included redesigned carpeting in the hotel lobby. Monogram by Callison and Signature teamed up to craft the lobby’s striking carpet designs, drawing on artistic influence from the area’s Aztec heritage and using local, indigenous materials.
