Are you looking for exceptional leadership, magically customer service, and unforgettable hospitality? Then look no further! I am a full-time hospitality professional and a current student pursuing my Bachelor of Arts in Hospitality Business Management at Washington State University Carson College of Business. As I expand my education and professional network, I am looking for a company that values diversity where I can apply my exceptional hospitality skills with the most impact.
As a member of the Washington’s hospitality industry for 9 years, and the Sales Manager for the Holiday Inn Express & Suites-Burlington, WA, for the past 7 years, some of my previous hospitality experience includes shuttle driving, guest service agent for all shifts, front desk supervision, Sales Manager with operational experience, board member, and board secretary.
As the Sales Manager for the hotel, I have spent the last 5 years of my career learning about setting achievable and realistic goals, achieving and exceeding those goals through hard work and planning, fostering business growth through recognizing customer loyalty and providing excellent service, implementing new sales & marketing ideas to capture more competitor’s business, and being an active member of my community. I have also been a key motivator and guide to my team fostering achievement of personal and professional goals daily.
I have spent my time in hospitality volunteering in my community, being an active member of all Skagit’s Chamber of Commerce, a Burlington Chamber Ambassador, a voting member of the City of Burlington’s Lodging Tax Advisory Committee, a member of the Skagit County Lodging Association, and a voting member of the Skagit Valley Tourism and Promotional Area Board. My recent appointment as the Tulip Festival Board Secretary for the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival 2020-2021 allows me to build, expand, and maintain the festival through the effects of covid-19. This is the second largest tulip festival in North America and produces more than $65 million dollars in revenue for Skagit County.
As an active member of my community, a loyal employee to my company, and an asset to my industry, I have reached an educational and financial roadblock where I am unable to continue growing in this business solely through power of will; can do attitude, and dedication. I need to complete my education as I need to breathe (which is an essential act); and am determined to achieve my long yearned for academic goals. I hope that connections within the NEWH Northwest Chapter will assist me in reaching my educational goals at Washington State University Global Campus and excel at achieving my professional goals in the hospitality & tourism industry.
With my passion for hospitality and serving my community, I know that I have the skills and drive necessary to continue to have a successful impact on the industry that I love. I hope to find a company that recognizes my tangible and intangible skills, and is willing to nurture my growth as I help to increase their reputation and revenue. Thank you so much for your consideration and I look forward to speaking with you in the future.
