I am an accomplished textile designer with experience in the design, merchandising and sales of product for the home furnishing, contract, hospitality and outdoor markets. My work involves a thorough understanding of fabric construction, expertise in color and trend forecasting, strong customer relationships and a passion for art and design.

I majored in textile design, with a focus on wovens, at Parsons School of Design, spending my summers working at The D&D Building in New York City. After graduation, I have worked as a fabric designer for American mills and convertors.

My primary focus was the design and development of fabric for the residential, contract and hospitality marketplace. This included working directly with jobbers to help develop collections that represented their brands. The process entailed presentations to customers, marrying constructions to artwork I created (or that they provided), writing color blankets and seeing the development through to a finished product.

A large part of my responsibilities was to present my collections to sales and customers during meetings. I was a frequent visitor to High Point, North Carolina and jobber showrooms and offices throughout the country. I also traveled domestically and overseas for trade shows such as High Point Furniture Market, Neo-Con, Heimtex, Decosit and others.

In addition to presenting collections to customers I also worked very closely with them to develop artwork and to bring their ideas to fruition. Customers provided inspiration at times, but many depended on my guidance for color and trend direction. Having a strong wovens background was very beneficial as I had an understanding of both jacquard and dobby construction, which helped guide the process.

On many occasions I have seen my work featured in top shelter magazines. My work has also been included in major collections that have been nominated and received industry awards. Honors include Interior Design’s Best of the Year Award and nominations at Neocon.

Throughout my career I have found customer interaction to be one of the most fulfilling aspects and I have developed working and personal relationships which have lasted throughout the years. I am looking for new opportunities in design and sales where I will continue to grow and expand my vision within our industry.
