Jena attained a BS in Marketing at University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and since has held positions in management, sales, and service. Susan Huntington

Chief Financial Officer

Susan brings with her over 20+ years’ financial experience. Susan earned her Associates Degree in Accounting from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College and her Bachelor’s in Accounting through Lakeland University in Green Bay, Wisconsin. She resides in her hometown of Shawano with her husband Jeff, three children; Grace, Ava, Max, and German shepherd dogs – Winston and Lucy, and Willow the cat. When not at work, Susan enjoys traveling and exploring with her family as well as improving on her photography hobby.

Office Manager

1. Oversee the daily functions of the office.

FINANCE
1. Maintain the NEWH, Inc. and Chapter financial records
2. Modify online QuickBooks account for incoming board of directors.
3. Keep an accurate checkbook in QuickBooks for each Chapter and the NEWH, Inc. office via monthly bank statements
4. Maintain an accurate, up to date chart of accounts
5. Payroll: maintain weekly timesheets, prepare checks, and prepare monthly and quarterly payroll tax returns
6. Coordinate chapter venue credit card deposits for all Chapters
7. Provide support to the accountant in preparing annual tax returns
8. Every January work with Chapter Treasurers to establish annual budgets. All budgets to be completed by February 15th
9. Act as the Accounts Payable department for all Chapters
10. Provide support to Chapter Treasurers as needed
11. Act as the Treasurer for all Regional Groups
12. Update signature cards for all Chapters annually
13. Facilitate in quarterly discipline calls.

Accounts Receivable:
1. Oversee deposits of all money coming into the NEWH, Inc. office through bank by mail
2. Oversee processing credit card payments
3. Oversee and maintain GoPayment merchant accounts for chapter point of sale transactions
4. Invoice customers/chapters for amounts due to NEWH, Inc. and monitor aging.

Accounts Payable:
1. Oversee quarterly chapters dues reimbursement
2. Process invoices for payments
3. Reimburse Chapter event funds to the Chapters

INSURANCE
1. Be familiar with three insurance policies (Workmen’s Comp., Errors & Omissions, and General Liability).
2. Coordinate chapters Certificate of Insurance prior to events, securing the General Liability policy (it is frowned upon to have an open bar because NEWH are more liable than having people purchase their own beverages.

Diane Federwitz

Membership & Events - Staff Director

Diane is the Membership/Events Director for NEWH, Inc. She is your contact for NEWH chapter event communication, chapter board trainings, membership, and the NEWH website. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a BS degree in Administrative Management, Diane was employed by a Milwaukee consulting firm and worked with an array of nonprofit organizations in resource development, research, and leadership development projects. Diane’s background and involvement with nonprofit organizations in the past brings creativity, resourcefulness, and enthusiasm to NEWH. Diane is married to her husband Dennis, and they have two children: Nathan and Morgan and a furry kid, Murphy. When not at work, Diane enjoys spending time with family and friends, sipping wine while watching the weeds grow in her garden, and enjoying the northwoods.

CHAPTER MEMBERSHIP

  1. Oversee all membership and database activities at NEWH Office
  2. Coordinate monthly membership renewal reminders
  3. Provide monthly dues reports to chapter boards
  4. Maintain current application forms on website

CHAPTER PROGRAMMING/FUNDRAISING SUPPORT

  1. Create and/or distribute meeting notices for Chapter events
  2. Maintain Calendar of Events on website
  3. Create online event registrations/RSVPs and provide training to chapter board member responsible for receiving RSVPs

NEWH WEBSITE

  1. Maintain NEWH Website
  2. Post meeting notices, photographs, event registrations, etc. for the chapters
  3. Handle the online SQL database
  4. Oversee website member logins
  5. Oversee designLinQ

CAREER NETWORK

  1. Post available positions and resumes on the NEWH website
  2. Work with chapters and vendors to maintain an up-to-date industry service

NEWH MAGAZINE

  1. Mass distribution of magazine through broadcast email
  2. Send out requests for member news
  3. Proof final copy

TopID

  1. Gather TopID nominees from chapter
  2. Congratulate TopID recipients and request testimonial
  3. Post TopID list and post installation project images on NEWH website
  4. Coordinate shipment/delivery of TopID awards to chapter/region

BOARD TRAINING

  1. Facilitates in-person and webinar training sessions
  2. Maintains NEWH Board of Directors Resources on the NEWH website

Julie Hartmann

Finance - Staff Director

Julie is your contact for questions regarding online registration, Chapter nominations, and Chapter finances. She is very excited to be a part of such an amazing non-profit organization that supports the Hospitality Industry.  She bring over 15+ years of work experience working under different financial coordinators from retail to government. During those times she has come to appreciate the real meaning of life – Family! NEWH, Inc is all about family and has welcomed Julie with open arms and hopes to continue for many – many – many years!!! Julie balances family, husband Dave, heavenly daughter Lilie, son Brodie, daughter Marlie, and special furry kiddos Stella and Louise, with work and numerous extracurricular activities.

FINANCE SUPPORT

Erika Swansen, MS, MBA

Scholarship & Education - Staff Director

Erika has extensive experience in the continuing education field focusing on course development for professional education, operations and customer service. She holds Master degrees in both Vocational Rehabilitation and in Business Administration. Erika is passionate about life-long learning and connecting learners with the tools they need for success in their chosen field.

Kate Elaine Nesbitt

Conferences & Tradeshows - Staff Director

Kate is the Director/Conferences & Tradeshows – Staff for NEWH, Inc. and is your contact for Regional Tradeshows, BrandED, and Leadership Conference. Kate obtained a Bachelor’s in Health and Human Performance from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Okla. while playing on the women’s tennis team and working part-time at a fine-dining restaurant where her passion for the hospitality industry first began. Kate resides in Western Wisconsin with her partner Jake and their miniature dachshund Tank. When not at work, her interests include playing tennis, cooking and baking, traveling to new places, and cheering for the Chiefs.

Hillary Eggebrecht

Communications - Staff Director

Hillary is the Scholarship & Communications Director for NEWH, Inc. She is your contact for NEWH, Inc and Chapter Scholarships and the NEWH Green Voice Design Competition.  She also oversees NEWH, Inc social media and event promotion on the international level. After earning her BA in English Journalism, Hillary worked at a non-profit educational book publishers doing editing, marketing and public relations. She is excited to learn more about the welcoming hospitality industry

Hillary is married to her husband Matthew, and lives in Eau Claire, WI with their son, Leonard and dog Oly. When not at work, Hillary enjoys traveling, live music and trying new things.

SCHOLARSHIPS:

  1. Provide support to Chapter Scholarship Directors to open, promote and award Chapter Scholarships
  2. Oversee NEWH, Inc International Scholarships and their awarding at large events each year
  3. Facilitate the NEWH Green Voice Design Competition (rewriting process, opening and collecting submissions, coordinating judges, and awarding)

SOCIAL MEDIA:

  1. Coordinate with VP of Communications to strategize social media content and schedule
  2. Maintain social media guidelines and compliance at the Inc and Chapter level
  3. Provide support to Chapter Marketing/Social Media Directors as needed
  4. Provide support to all NEWH members inquiring about music at NEWH Events

EDUCATION:

  1. Oversees EDOnline development and content submission

Kathy Coughlin

Administrative/Membership Coordinator

Kathy joined NEWH in 2008 as a full time office assistant.  Kathy was born and raised in Chicago and has lived most of her life in Illinois. She moved to Wisconsin about 13 years ago. Kathy has many years of experience in administrative office positions in the healthcare, construction, manufacturing, and temporary agency fields. Among Kathy’s duties is handling incoming communication, database management, and other general office duties.  Kathy is married to Kevin and has two grown children, Janine and Jim. She also has four sweet and rambunctious grandsons Cameron, Landon, Logan and James. When not at work, Kathy loves gardening and visiting the botanical gardens, bird watching, craft projects, being Kevin’s sous chef in the kitchen, and keeping in touch with family and friends.

ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES

  1. Responsible for answering phones.
  2. Provide support to the NEWH, Inc. office, members, potential members, and NEWH, Inc. board members.
  3. Update mailing information on database and work with chapters on their mailing lists.
  4. Provide chapter rosters to the chapters monthly.
  5. Provide chapter support pertaining to any aspects of membership/renewals.
  6. Provide all chapter boards a current mailing list for edification periodically during the year.
  7. Assist Deputy Director in the shipping of NEWH Tradeshow collateral materials to show site.
  8. Save and distribute chapter board minutes to the NEWH, Inc. office for review.
  9. Proofing as required.

CHAPTER MEMBERSHIP

  1. Welcome all new members.
  2. Respond to membership inquiries via the website.
  3. Enter membership renewal and dues payment information into the database.
  4. Receive and enter e-mail Member Submission Changes into the database.
  5. Provide detailed information to Accounts Payable to allow for correct financial categorization.
  6. Request approvals from chapters for all new member applications and enter once approved.
  7. Update database with new contacts from various lists and publications.
  8. Enter scholarship award information into the database.
  9. Update database with school updates
  10. Compile and send New Member Packets and Badges.

Denise Huntington

Finance Support

Denise earned her Business Administrative certificate degree from Northeast Wisconsin Technical Institute in 2010. She has worked for 20 years at her husband Dan’s auto repair and hardware store doing the bookkeeping and working in customer service. Denise worked for 5 years at the College of Menominee as an Administrative Assistant. They have 3 children, Dillon (Destinee), Darci and Dani and 4 grandchildren, Deklan, Aniston, Cade & Cora and one dog Gizmo. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, baking and sewing.

Denise works with chapters and supports our NEWH Inc. team in a variety of areas, including:

Sarah Von Deck

Office Administrator

Sarah has lived in Wisconsin her whole life. She lives in the city of Shawano with her husband Chris. They have 2 children, Leaf and Daisy. Sarah studied Information Processing at North Central Technical College for 2 years and graduated with a certificate. Sarah has worked in the grocery retail industry for 20+ years and most recently was the bookkeeper at the main grocery store in town. She also worked at American Medical Security for a few years but realized the commute to Green Bay wasn’t for her (especially in the brutal Wisconsin winters). In Sarah’s spare time she loves to garden with Chris as they continue to fill their yard with more and more gardens. They also love to explore Wisconsin and Michigan by visiting all the national, state and county parks that beautiful Wisconsin and the UP have to offer. She also loves to craft and take her dog Hazel for walks.

ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES

  1. Performs data entry in Access database by entering membership applications, new and updated membership information; maintains corresponding spreadsheets
  2. Serves as a backup receptionist answering incoming phone calls and/or directing calls to appropriate personnel
  3. Supports Administrative/Membership Coordinator on various tasks
  4. Maintain operations by following policies and procedures and reporting needed changes
  5. Other office support duties as necessary

Nancy Patrick

Data Specialist

Nancy recently joined the NEWH team as a Data Entry Specialist. Coming from a military family, she has lived in various locations, from South Carolina to the Arctic Circle, and now calls Wisconsin home after completing her own service in the US Air Force.

With over 20 years of experience in Data Analytics in the Consumer Packaged Goods industry, Nancy possesses a strong passion for ensuring the quality of data in business reports, dashboards, and user databases.

Nancy lives in Green Bay with her two children Ethan and Emert. In her free time, Nancy enjoys reading, cooking, enjoying the latest geeky movie or video game, and trying not to kill her plants.

  2. Update membership status and detail in database

  7. Run queries and email chapters a monthly updated membership roster
  8. Serve as a back up to answer and direct phone calls in a polite and friendly manner
  9. Perform other clerical duties such as filing, copying, faxing, etc.
