About NEWH Scholarships – An objective of the NEWH By-laws is to promote scholarship, education and interest within the Hospitality Industry. NEWH, Inc. and its chapters fundraise to provide scholarships to students pursuing a career within Hospitality related fields (Interior Design, Hospitality Management, Culinary, Architecture, Senior Living, etc.).

NEWH BrandED $7,500 scholarship: Open to hospitality management students. Scholarships are awarded at the following events: The Lodging Conference held annually in September in Phoenix, Arizona and Boutique Design Power Players Breakfast, held annually in November (during BDNY). NEWH ICON of Industry $7,500 scholarship: Open to Interior Design students with a hospitality career focus. Scholarship recipients will be awarded at Boutique Design Gold Key Awards Gala in New York City, held annually in November. NEWH Structures of Hospitality Excellence (SOHE) $10,000 Scholarship. Open to students majoring in architecture, construction management, civil or environmental engineering, or project management with a career objective within the hospitality industry. Awarded at ALIS DESIGN+ in Los Angeles, CA, held annually in January. Scholarship recipient must be able to attend the awards event with paid airfare/lodging provided.
NEWH Structures of Hospitality Excellence (SOHE) up to $5,000 Scholarship, sponsored by Delta Faucet Company and ALIS DESIGN+. Open to students pursuing a certificate, technical diploma, or associate degree in the construction trades at a construction trade school, interested in building, renovating, or maintaining various types of properties in the hospitality industry, including hotels, resorts, restaurants, and more. Awarded at ALIS DESIGN+ in Los Angeles, CA, held annually in January. Scholarship recipient must be able to attend the awards event with paid airfare/lodging provided. Undergraduate $7,500 scholarship
Graduate $7,500 scholarship
Opens in summer, projects due in January the following year, with awards in fall. Open to undergraduate and graduate interior design or architecture students junior level and above (pursuing a career in hospitality). Winning students’ receive paid airfare/lodging to attend the awards event at BDNY in New York in November. Deadline: January 8, 2025

NEWH Harvey Nudelman $7,500 scholarship, sponsored by Fabricut Contract, FR One: Opens in December, applications due in February and awarded at HD in April. Open to interior design students pursuing a career in hospitality. Awarded during the NEWH Young Entrepreneurs breakfast and panel discussion at HD EXPO in Las Vegas, Nevada. Scholarship recipient must be able to attend the awards event with paid airfare/lodging provided. Deadline was February 16, 2024 – stay tuned for 2025 information

The $5,000 Diversity in Hospitality scholarship, a partnership between HDAC and NEWH, and underwritten by Emerald, works to encourage diversity, equity and inclusion in and access to the hospitality industry by supporting students who identify with under-represented and minority groups interested in careers in the industry. Applicants must have submitted all required application materials to be eligible. Deadline was February 16, 2024 – stay tuned for 2025 information.
The website “We Can’t Go Backwards” focuses on advocating for sexual health rights, particularly in response to funding cuts and policy changes that threaten access to contraception and other sexual health services. It serves as a platform to rally support and raise awareness about the importance of maintaining these services. The site encourages visitors to share their experiences with contraception and other health services to map the current situation across the UK. Additionally, it features personal stories to highlight real-life impacts of changes in sexual health services. Click here for more details
