Carolina was born into the field of design & construction; which carved the path into her career. During high school she worked as an associate at a local tile & stone showroom. Shortly after high school she advanced to managing their New York City showroom. Her passion for he industry grew and enrolled in college to become an interior designer. In 2015 she decided move to Florida to be closer to her immediate family. To proceed with her career & establish new roots she got involved with local chapters in our field and was introduced to NEWH. Instantly hooked, she got heavily involved and a few years later is now the VP of Admin on the Board of Directors. The most beneficial & unexpected benefit of being a part of NEWH has been the amazing relationships created of life long friends.

He bridges the design and technical roles of projects to deliver high quality, high design spaces for his clients. He has a Masters in Interior Architecture from Florida International University. Passionate about giving back and making a difference in our design community he is currently serving as the VP of Development.

Marilynn Kaufmann

Prior to joining the hospitality industry, Marilynn studied fashion merchandising and business at Indiana University. She sold private label apparel for several years before making the switch as a rep in hospitality sales. She now has a strong passion for the world of hotel design, and recently relocated to South Florida after 9 years in NYC. Being on the board of NEWH has allowed her to give back to the community while forming great relationships in the industry.

Sean was born into the Hospitality Industry as a second generation representative. His parents, Maggie and Arthur (Buzz, as most people call him), are longtime representatives for some of the leading manufacturers in the industry. Graduating in 2009 from Georgetown University with a double major in Management and Operations and Information Management, Sean returned home to join the family business and has never looked back. Sean has been very fortunate to accumulate a group of top manufacturers in their respective categories, providing a extremely strong portfolio for his customers. This is Sean’s second year as NEWH Treasurer and looks forward to future group with the organization.

Prior to joining the hospitality industry, Jennifer received her Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of Miami with a double major in Business Management and Legal Studies. In pursuit of what she felt was the ideal career path for such a major, she worked as a Law Firm Administrator for over 11 years. In 2014, Jennifer decided to change her path for a more creative and trend-setting industry when she joined EoA (Edge of Architecture) as it’s Director of Operations. She has sense never looked back and truly enjoys all of the amazing industry professionals and creative souls that she is able to interact with on a daily basis. Jennifer is currently the South Florida Chapter Past President and is in her 5th year on the NEWH Board.

Candace is a LEED AP and NCIDQ certificate holder, who received her Interior Design degree from the University of Florida. Having practiced Interior Design in Atlanta, Orlando, and Miami, she switched roles to sales when she began with Design Within Reach in 2012, and is now a DWR Contract rep. Candace is a Past President of NEWH South Florida, and is currently serving as Executive Advisor.

Bryan is the Director of Design for Hilton Caribbean & Latin America. For over a decade his career has focused on International Hospitality design and architecture. His portfolio includes luxury hotels, lifestyle properties and resorts spanning five continents. He has taught graduate design studio at Texas Tech University and Florida International University. Prior to joining Hilton Worldwide, he was a Senior Project Designer with The Gettys Group and the Design Director of RAD Architecture. Bryan received his Master’s of Architecture (M.Arch) from Texas Tech University.

As a proud University of Florida alumnus, Jeanette received her degree in Public Relations with outside concentrations in Italian and Portuguese studies. As fate would have it, a casual conversation on a plane with her C2C Designs Director of Operations eventually led to a change in careers. Currently, she is a territory manager for C2C Designs, a custom furniture manufacturer, and is thrilled to be on the NEWH South Florida board— as it’s helped her better understand the industry, engage with powerhouse clients and make friends along the way!

Always looking for the latest trends, Elieser Duran has a keen eye for details and design. His experience has given him the opportunity to grow as a professional always bringing fresh ideas to the community. He currently holds the position of Interior Designer Manager in one of the fastest-growing companies in South Florida.

Annette Lucille began her hospitality career in operations with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts in beautiful Seattle, WA. Her commitment towards creativity led her to attend the Art Institute studying interior design while simultaneously studying wine. Development company Wischermann Partners, Inc moved her from Seattle to Minneapolis where she was mentored as a project manager; renovating + building new properties within the portfolio. Recently, she started working with the world’s leading manufacturer of high-quality woven carpets – Brinton’s as a commercial sales executive + now resides in South Florida. NEWH has played a major role in her life. Annette has enjoyed the opportunity to plug into multiple chapter events starting back as a student + today amongst business travel in addition serving on the board for almost four years.

Domonique Carey is a Contracted Interior Designer. She attended The University of Florida where she received her bachelor’s in interior design. Domonique was born and raised in Florida, but she has Jamaican roots from her father’s side. He has influenced her passion for design since she was a little girl being on various work sites with him.

Domonique has always loved design and had a passion for the built world around us. Domonique grew up knowing the foundation of design and what it takes to create an inviting space. She wants to always create spaces that captivate the essences of what design means to her.

Domonique strives for discovering new things, growing as an individual and as a designer who pushes her designs to the next level. She feels design is more than the aesthetic characteristics of space, but the bridge that unites vibrancy and comfort, to purpose and functionality.

Outside of work, Domonique enjoys spending time with her family, friends and her puppy Coach. When she is not spending time with her loved ones, Domonique is relaxing with a good book or watching her favorite TV shows/Movies. Domonique feels designs should impact the world we live in!

Keith started in the hospitality field in 1999 as an independent manufacturer’s representative. His tenacity, curiosity and honest approach allowed him to quickly grow the business. Today KM-Associates represents some of the top names in the hospitality industry. Keith’s extensive product knowledge and ability to navigate fast-paced environments has cultivated strong relationships with key design firms, purchasing agents and hotel owners. Keith embraces the day-to-day challenges and is an expert at streamlining the design and specifying process. Keith received his Master’s Degree in Finance from Barry University.

Amalia Morejon is a college student at Miami Dade College and will be graduating with an Arts Associate in May 2019. On her High school’s Senior year, she decided to study Interior Design. This career has fueled her passion for helping others, as Interior Design is a career where creativity can influence the lives of those who experience it. As part of her college experience, Amalia became a member of the IIDA and NEWH. As a member of IIDA, she has participated in Art by Design 2016 and Design Mix 2017, winning the People Choice’s award of this last one. Amalia also became the winner of the 2018 Wilsonart’s essay competition. This year, she also became the NEWH Student’s Rep. Which will help her to aid other students to achieve their goals in their careers thru scholarships.
