Although it\'s unabashedly a new-build, the 170-key Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills doesn\'t take its iconic position at the corner of Wilshire and Santa Monica Boulevards lightly. Its nod to the city\'s Art Deco heritage begins with a prow-like limestone exterior (jointly designed by Pierre-Yves Rochon, Perkins+Will, and Gensler) that bursts into bloom as the visitor steps into a double-height lobby.
