“Understanding Wood: Specifying Solid Wood for Eco-conscious Designers”

CEU Course Description:
Environmental responsibility should be the first priority of every designer’s practice. While green building has evolved beyond the initial emphasis on energy efficiency, new attention is being given to the choice of structural materials and the degree to which they influence a building’s environmental footprint. This course will enable designers to make educated decisions when specifying solid wood by understanding the critical components of species selection, sustainable sourcing, and finishing practices.
