Overview

The Art Consultant is responsible for curating and presenting artwork that aligns with client needs, project briefs, and brand standards. This role manages client relationships, project execution, and cross-departmental collaboration to deliver exceptional art solutions for diverse spaces and brands.

Key Responsibilities

Art

  • Select and present artwork that harmonizes with design intent, follows client briefs, and is appropriate for the intended space or brand.
  • Develop and deliver proposals that adhere to branding templates, ensuring all presentations are organized and professional.

Art Services

  • Consult on art selection, placement, and elevation (LEAP: Locating, Elevating, and Placement) to ensure art is sized and located appropriately.
  • Apply framing knowledge so that artwork is architecturally sound, framed to design direction, and visually cohesive within the space.
  • Manage projects and budgets, maintaining target margins, advancing projects to meet client deadlines and deliverables, and clearly communicating status or limitations.

Client Relationship

  • Own and lead client and stakeholder relationships, serving as a strategic advisor and key decision-maker.
  • Respond to clients promptly and professionally, ensuring high retention and satisfaction.
  • Support business development and industry engagement efforts; represent Kalisher at conferences, fairs, networking events, and client meetings to foster and sustain relationships.

Community

  • Provide team leadership, mentorship, and cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Participate in weekly team meetings, contribute to departmental needs, and respond to managers, colleagues, and department leads in a timely, professional, and courteous manner.
  • Depending on seniority, train or mentor associates or interns as needed.

  • Team and cross-departmental contributions are consistent and collaborative; mentorship is provided when appropriate.

Experience & Skills

  • 2–3 years of relevant experience in art consulting, interior design, project management, client services, or a related field required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Art, Design, Art History, Interior Design, or related field preferred.
  • Strong visual and design sensibility, with a proven eye for curating and presenting artwork for diverse spaces.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to convey creative concepts and recommendations to clients and colleagues.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, with attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of framing, architectural finishes, and spatial planning a plus.
  • Collaborative, client-focused, and solutions-oriented approach.
  • Ability to travel for client meetings and industry events as needed.
