Design Curator (Onsite Office Fort Lauderdale) Fort Lauderdale, FL Design Curator Valley Forge Fabrics is seeking a Design Curator based onsite in Fort Lauderdale to join our company’s project management and product development team. This role is ideal for a creative professional with a strong eye for aesthetics, historical and contemporary interior design knowledge, and the ability to curate collections that align with market trends. This role requires a keen eye for color, texture, and pattern, as well as an understanding of how textiles and materials contribute to the overall guest experience in hotels, resorts, and commercial spaces. The ideal candidate will work closely with senior designer customers, suppliers, and clients to source, organize and present curated design solutions that align with brand aesthetics and project requirements. The right candidate will have at least 3 years of hospitality interior design plus fabric selection background, so they can understand varying hotel budgets, hotel brands’ design intents, and will be able to merchandise textiles in a way that makes sense for our design clients DD process and palette creation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Management:

  • Collaborate with clients, designers, and internal teams to understand project requirements and objectives.
  • Create and manage project schedules, ensuring all milestones are met.
  • Coordinate and oversee all aspects of design related projects from conceptual phase.
  • Monitor project budgets and expenses to ensure projects are completed within financial constraints.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Serve as one of the main points of contact for clients throughout the conceptual phase.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Actively seek feedback to ensure client satisfaction and identify opportunities for improvement.

Fabric Selection and Specification:

  • Assist clients and designers in selecting appropriate fabrics based on project requirements and design aesthetics.
  • Prepare detailed fabric specifications and documentation.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure the availability of selected fabrics and materials.

Quality Assurance:

  • Conduct quality inspections of fabrics and materials to ensure they meet the required standards for their intended end use.
  • Address any quality issues promptly and effectively.

Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, design, and manufacturing, to ensure project success.
  • Share industry knowledge and insights with the team to stay up-to-date with industry trends.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
  • Prepare regular reports on project status and key performance metrics.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree project management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a hospitality interior design firm, with a focus on luxury and lifestyle hotels.
  • Strong understanding of fabric specifications, design principles, and project management methodologies.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software- Sales Force, Microsoft D365.
  • A passion for design and a keen eye for aesthetics.
  • Understanding of hotel brands and their varying aesthetics and budgets.
  • Ability to translate designer mood images into curated fabric selections.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
