Role Overview:
We seek a motivated and dynamic Territory Sales Representative to join our team. This hybrid role (work from home & territory travel) is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in a flexible work environment and is eager to significantly impact a small business. You will manage existing accounts and identify new business opportunities, focusing on New York City design firms in the Hospitality Sector. This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a new generation within our 40-year-old business, with direct access to leadership and the ability to influence company growth and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and nurture relationships with interior design firms specializing in hospitality projects.
- Conduct presentations and product demonstrations for potential clients.
- Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking functions in the NYC area.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive sales growth.
- Achieve and exceed sales targets through effective territory management.
- Provide regular updates on market activity and competitive intelligence.
- Use HubSpot (our CRM) and LinkedIn daily to support prospecting efforts.
- Collaborate with the team to refine sales strategies and improve processes.
- Coordinate with our team on quotes, specifications, and follow-up
- Regular travel within the NYC Metro area, with other days providing flexibility for remote work.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in sales, marketing, or customer relationship management.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Google Suite.
- Experience in the hospitality industry or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of furniture or interior design is a plus.
- A bachelor’s degree or experience in Business Administration or a related field is preferred.
- Strongly Preferred Qualifications:
Established relationships with NYC-based design firms in the hospitality sector - Currently representing complementary (non-competing) multi-line products
- Located in NYC with the ability to make regular in-person visits to design firms
- 3+ years of experience in hospitality furniture or fixture sales
- Knowledge of the contract furniture specification process
- Understanding of furniture manufacturing, finishes, and customization options
Compensation:
- Draw against a commission structure with uncapped commission potential.
- Competitive commission rates based on experience and existing relationships.
- This is a 1099 contract role.
- Expense reimbursement for approved client entertainment and travel.
- Potential earnings of $100K+ annually.
