Personal Statement

After attending Grand Canyon University and graduating, I will be the first in my family with a four year college degree, I plan to work within the industry gaining experience in different hotels and resorts and then applying the work experience, in management, towards opening my own hotel and resort. I am excited about the opportunities that await me and all the great knowledge and experiences that I have gained through GCU, traveling abroad, work experience doing events with the hospitality program, and work life experience that I gained and applying it toward what I hope to be a wonderful place for people to come and stay and create memories of their own, while being nice to the world in my green hotel.

I have worked as a apartment supervisor assisting with the up keep of the property's cleanliness, meeting with outside vendors for repairs, completing potential tenants walk through's before and then doing new tenant walk through's for move-in as well as when tenants moved out. I worked in for a temp agency, Hospitality Pro's, as a housekeeper for the Wild Horse Inn and Resort. I was also front desk associate for the Budget Suites.

I have received a $1000 scholarship from Scholarship America for a paper I wrote about how my resort is going to change lives and make a difference. I also receive a Deans Scholarship at GCU for my GPA. A scholarship from the VHRA for $2500 for students in the hospitality field. While in Junior college I was on the Dean's List, I had been president of CEO, GSA, Alpha Gamma Sigma and Vice President of Phi Theta Kappa, secretary to the President of the Student Body Government, Events coordinator for Student Body Government, Blood Drive Director for College Campus, and sat as a board member on several interdisciplinary organizations for the college campus as a whole.
