As a Project Coordinator at Market Square Architects, I support design teams by assisting with architectural and interior design documentation for small to mid-sized projects. My responsibilities include creating floor plans, elevations, and building sections using Revit and BIM 360, as well as contributing to the overall design process through modeling, research, and team collaboration.

Personal Statement
Hi! I’m Shani Kitchen, a senior interior design student at Western Carolina University, graduating May 10th, 2025. As a non-traditional student with prior professional experience, I bring a mature, driven perspective to my work and a deep appreciation for thoughtful, impactful design. After graduation, I plan to relocate to the Nashville, Tennessee area to begin my career in commercial interior design, with a particular interest in hospitality and healthcare environments. I’m passionate about creating meaningful spaces that balance aesthetics, functionality, and user well-being.
I began my professional journey working with a general contractor in the Cashiers, NC area, specializing in high-end custom residential construction. From there, I transitioned into the kitchen and bath industry, starting as a Showroom Assistant at Smoky Mountain Cabinetry. I later interned with Capstone Lifestyles, Inc., where I was promoted to Design and Operations Assistant following the completion of my internship. I remained in that role until the showroom temporarily paused services due to Hurricane Helene.
Dean’s List and Chancellor’s List recipients from Fall 2022 through Fall 2023. In Spring and Fall of 2024, I maintained a 4.0 GPA while enrolled part-time, demonstrating continued academic excellence.
