I chose interior design because it is the only profession where my passion for interiors found a happy medium with my love of creativity, business, and flexibility. Much of my time is spent exploring the profession through education and national design organizations, holding multiple leadership positions in both ASID and IIDA, and volunteering in interior design related activities to help me reach my goal of becoming a licensed interior designer. Life has shown me that with a little bit of faith and a lot of perseverance, I can achieve anything I set my mind to. My design style is described as industrial chic. Inspiration is pulled from natural materials and the stylings of brutalist, rustic, and industrial design through a mix of metals and woods with a neutral color palette. It is then softened with luxurious fabrics and mixing light, cool colors or enriched with bold pops of color to cater to various design aesthetics.
