For two decades Green Hides has done things differently. Unlike other leather companies in the American market, Green Hides has direct ties to an Italian tannery in the storied Veneto Valley of northern Italy and its rich leather heritage.

Green Hides’ direct connection with our tannery allows us to bring Italian quality to the American market without the frustration of long lead times, high minimums or cultural barriers. Instead, clients can expect a boutique experience with personalized, proactive service and on-time delivery from the company’s American headquarters and warehouse in Greensboro, North Carolina.

As a source for great, classic leathers, our team of craftsmen work with European raw materials in a modern, ISO 9001 certified facility to ensure consistent quality, coloring and finishing across the line. From hair on hides, classic, natural and distressed leathers to high performance bleach cleanable leathers, Green Hides offers a curated selection of luxurious leathers for hospitality, residential, aviation and workplace environments.

Green Hides is a premiere resource for the aviation market and offers customizations in collaboration with our Italian tannery. Perforation, embossing and full-hide custom quilting are all available for our aviation leathers.

With graded in programs across the industry, Green Hides is a top-tier leather supplier for the contract OEM market. We were one of the first to develop bleach cleanable leathers and are an industry leader in leather innovation across all vertical markets. With over 40 articles in over 500 colors, Green Hides’ expansive collection transcends market lines.

Green Hides believes that, as nature’s fabric, leather should exist in complete harmony with and respect for the earth and its natural eco-systems.

Leather honors the life of an animal whose hide would otherwise be discarded. Collectively, the leather industry reduces landfill waste by 2.9 billion pounds annually by diverting a natural byproduct of the meat industry. Not only is leather a renewable resource, it also lasts longer than faux alternatives and needs to be replaced less often, further reducing waste over the lifetime of the material.

As a leader in the sustainable production of leather, Green Hides’ Italian tannery uses closed loop, low emission tanning, and all ingredients used in production are either reclaimed, recycled, purified or responsibly disposed. As a product of Italy, Green Hides leathers comply with the strict regulations and directives of the EU, including environmental normative CE2000/53 and REACH, a comprehensive regulation for chemical substances which aims to protect human and environmental health.

Green Hides’ commitment to human, social and environmental health is global; our leathers are free of 3TG conflict minerals, and hides are never sourced from deforestation regions. From renewable energy to recycling, daily business practices reflect an awareness and commitment to the company name.

For over two decades, our tannery has exclusively used solar power, preventing over 165,000 pounds of CO2 emissions per year. Green Hides also partners with local companies to reclaim tubes for rolling leather, as well as utilizing recycled products for packaging, office supplies and marketing materials.

Renewable, safe and sustainably produced, Green Hides leathers give new life to nature’s fabric through beautiful design.
