Ann McIntyre Studio

Ann McIntyre lives and works in Dallas, Texas, where she graduated from SMU with a BFA in Ceramics in 1981. She attributes her passion for aesthetics and all things visual to her move to Tokyo, Japan at age 16 where she graduated from high school and apprenticed under master porcelain ceramicist Koichi Takita in Aizu Wakamatsu, Fukushima-ken Japan. Upon returning to the US, she studied ikebana and became an instructor in the Sogetsu School of Ikebana of Tokyo, which she continues to practice.

After college, Ann worked in the corporate world for 25 years, primarily as a strategic account executive for Sun Microsystems, until her inner muse insisted she return to creative life. She redid her core art education at Brookhaven College School of the Arts and continues to study printmaking under Linda Ridgway.
