Aurelio Galfetti (Switzerland, 1936, graduated in Zurich) started in 1959 a successful career making more than 80 projects located in his Ticino region and all over Europe, that raised a great interest by critics. He became famous with works such as Public Baths and the restoration of Castelgrande Castle in Bellinzona. Even its commitment to education is remarkable, above all the
foundation with Mario Botta of the Architecture Academy in Mendrisio, which he directed for 5 years.
Luciano Schiavon (Italy, 1962, graduated in Padua) worked since 1989 on many projects and constructions concerning Architecture and Town Planning. Since 2001 he has collaborated with A. Galfetti, starting with the Net Center Complex –
with an 80 metres high red twisting tower – in the eastern outskirt of Padua that won the second prize in Chicago for the Best Tall Building in Europe.
LVL Architettura was also committed with the building Adià Center in Padua, an urban square in San Donà (Venice), 5 tall buildings in in Jesolo (Venice): G House Tower, Sea Beach House; Residence Panama, Shine Residence and Atmosfera Residence; The practice also designed many projects: two large urban developments in Padua and Treviso, a 130 meters high tower in Jesolo, hotel and dwellings in Venice-Lido restoring the old pavilions hospital. The firm won first prizes for a Sport and Hotel Centre on Dolomites and for the redevelopment of the lakeshore facilities in Ascona. Close to be completed, is the new Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB) in Bellinzona (CH), as the result of winning an International competition.
