I am the Founder, Owner and Designer at Modstalgic Interiors. I grew up in Evergreen, Colorado loving mountains, warm summers, and snowy winters. I started my creative and thrifty journey at a young age. My parents always encouraged all kinds of artistic activities and pursuits. My mother was a lawyer and my father a CPA, so they were shocked when they somehow got a creative, artistic child!

I chose to study art at Colorado State University and found an even broader love for the arts and making. I earned a degree in Graphic Design and Fiber Art. I loved both concentrations, but Graphic Design was my ticket to a job. I freelanced on and off for several years and found just how different my dreams for my career were from the reality of the jobs and projects I could find. It was time to pivot.

I’ve always enjoyed treasure hunting in thrift shops and antique stores. I had quickly amassed an extensive wardrobe and fully furnished my husband and I’s townhome, and things were beginning to burst at the seams with my many finds and projects to fix up. So Modstalgic was born… Mostly because my husband was no longer interested in climbing over my upholstery projects to get to the kitchen in the morning (I never minded)!

I began to refurbish and resell my finds from our small garage and quickly had much more inventory than the space could handle. Over the next year I rented a workshop/warehouse, began selling through an antique mall in Denver, and kept collecting unique furniture and home goods that needed a refresh.

I was always sad I never got to see the final resting places of the pieces I had lovingly restored. Over that year filled with a ton of learning and imposter syndrom I made the decision to open Modstalgic Interiors. My love for interior design had grown the more I learned about furniture and the people who buy it. I wanted to do more than just sell someone a beautiful, unique credenza from 1960, I wanted to help them design a whole room around it! So I went back to school and started taking interior design clients!

Modstalgic Interiors is the culmination of years spent learning about art, design, furniture, textiles, upholstery, restoration, lighting, sales, entrepreneurship, and myself. I have always loved to create and creating interiors that help people love and feel comfortable in their spaces brings me joy. I am passionate about designing spaces that are as functional as they are beautiful. I would love to work with you to design not only a beautiful home, but also a beautiful lifestyle.
