New York/New Jersey based interior designer, Tonya Almallah attended the University of Delaware, where she received her Bachelors of Arts & Science, majoring in Fashion Merchandising with a minor in Leadership and Consumer Economics. After graduating and working in the fashion industry, she decided to pursue a career following her passion and love for interior design. Tonya attended Manhattan’s Upper East Side, New York School of Interior Design (NYSID), where she graduated with high honors and received her Associates Degree in Interior Design.
Shortly after graduating she moved to Las Vegas, where she joined Steve Wynn’s Five Star/Five Diamond Hotel design team, known as Wynn Design and Development. During her tenure at WDD Tonya gained a vast amount of her experience while working under hospitality design icon Roger Thomas, on both local Las Vegas and International projects in Macau.
Tonya credits her family’s encouragement to always pursue your dreams, which helped push her to launch her own firm in 2007. After working several years in the hospitality industry, she went on to work in house as the lead designer for a major NJ based operator of high end assisted living and skilled nursing facilities. With her strong hospitality background, she created Five Star healthcare facilities on the East Coast. Tonya went on to join several top NYC based Hospitality giants such as Champalimaud, Forest Perkins/Perkins Eastman, where she was able to work on several Five Star projects around the globe.
Today she is focused on designing both High-End Hospitality spaces such as Hotels, Restaurants & High-End Healthcare facilities. Tonya attributes her success due to her strong passion and love for interior design. She is greatly inspired by the fashion industry, her world travels, and her love for the outdoors. During Tonya’s free time she can be found jet setting around the globe, working out, and hanging out with her family, friends, and cute little Frenchie named Oscar.
