NEWH New England Region invites you to join us in a celebration of the 2023 Top ID Award Winning firm DiLeonardo at their latest hospitality project: The Hammetts Hotel in Newport, RI!
The Hammetts Hotel is “an independent boutique hotel that beat the odds and successfully opened at the height of the pandemic. Embracing the city’s seafaring and mercantile history, the hotel pays homage to the working-class origins that helped make Newport what it is today. The mercantile/ working waterfront design concept resulted in a modern, classic, relaxed environment that conveys both quality and simplicity with its brick, wainscoting, and abundance of wood. The small footprint of the guestrooms presented a challenge for designers. Taking inspiration from the boats that often pass by the hotel, designers incorporated a niche window seat into the design of the guestroom to provide extra seating. Having opened in the height of the pandemic, designers were tasked with creating flexible seating options in the public spaces to adhere to social distancing guidelines. Against all odds, Hammetts Hotel was sold out in their first week.”
Join us for a tour of the hotel, followed by mingling and networking at our happy hour with lite bites and drink tickets! Want to make a night of it? We have discounted room rates available for the night – contact us at [email protected] for details.
