General Description of the Job Class: Working with hotel owners, brand operators and interior designers, position will ensure that operating supplies & equipment (OS&E) areas sourced, budgeted, ordered, delivered and installed in a timely manner within the overall budgetary, schedule, brand and design constraints.

Duties and Responsibilities of this Level

The candidate will be responsible for managing the Hotel Operating Supplies & Equipment (OS&E) purchasing process for all projects including:

GENERAL DUTIES

  • Analysis of markets to determine vendor sources and product availability; keep abreast of market fluctuations affecting prices
  • Maintain on-going OS&E Library and/or Data base
  • Client Relations
  • In conjunction with Client and Project Director, Establish and implement procurement strategy for OS&E projects
  • Maintain on-going relationships with the Brands to stay abreast of the latest standard OS&E programs

PROJECT PURCHASING DUTIES

  • Work within established budgets and schedules
  • Assessing critical paths
  • Develop & specify goods and create a bill of Materials (Catalog) for each individual project.
  • Source Property Specific OS&E
  • Budget Development
  • Value engineering
  • Prepare and process various forms involving purchase orders, change orders, exception reports, bid requests, and other buying procedures
  • Basic project accounting
  • Coordinating logistics

Required Qualifications at this Level

Required Knowledge:
Successful candidate must have experience sourcing the following OS&E commodities: China, Glass, Silver, Linens, Amenities, Housekeeping supplies, kitchen small wares, etc.

Education:
Successful candidate will possess a BS/BA degree in a related field and four (4) years of OS&E sourcing and purchasing experience. Must have proven ability to work within budgetary guidelines and have knowledge of all operating areas within a hotel.

Skills:
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office. Ability to work in cloud-based procurement software system. Must possess excellent negotiating skills and the ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects.
