Project Manager, Procurement – We are looking for a strategic and detail-oriented Procurement Project Manager to join our team! This role will oversee sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing packages such as, guestrooms, suites, lobbies, restaurants, bars, pools, spa, conference spaces, BOH, and corporate offices for various projects. Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Project Manager in procurement, supply chain management, or purchasing within the hospitality or luxury sectors preferred.

As a Project Manager, Procurement, you will be an essential member of the Procurement and Project Management team with focus on managing all procurement efforts. You will share overall responsibilities of executing multiple projects with your assigned team of Project Managers and Director. The support you provide will be directly related to the projects success and overall service fees earned to support the greater business.

This is a hybrid position based out of the Manassas, VA or Nashville, TN office. The position will be reporting to the Director, Project Management.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Planning, organizing, implementing, and executing project objectives pertaining to Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment (FF&E) and Operating, Supplies & Equipment (OS&E).
  • In conjunction with the Project Coordinator, ensure each project is completed on time and within the contracted budget requirements.

  • Conduct design audit, to cross reference all design documents with scope of work to ensure that are no discrepancies between the specifications, matrix, index and drawings.
  • Partner closely with the client to create and outline a delivery schedule to meet the job needs.
  • Reviews all project purchase orders and ensures timely delivery of quality materials.
  • Be a strategic partner and provide valuable industry insights and best practices, as it pertains to ordering timelines, delivery types and installation methods.
  • Coordinate logistics for all deliveries that are vendor shipped (JIT, warehouse and on property storage). For all 3PL, partner with logistics if Dessin Logistics is contracted, if outsourced, then procurement is responsible for managing this as well.
  • Responsible for reviewing status reports and communicating potential risks to the Director and client.
  • Review samples, seaming diagrams, and shop drawings to ensure they meet scope requirements.
  • Review accuracy between interior design specifications, vendor quotes and shop drawings.
  • Confirms sample room timeline and coordinates material delivery. (if applicable)
  • Manages and audits material ordered, shipped and received. Escalates any risks to the director and/or client.
  • Oversees and resolves receipt/inventory issues with receiving locations.
  • Research and resolve any project related discrepancies and disputes.
  • Maintain all project communication and files based on the company’s organizational structure.
  • Identify items that have been long lead time or discontinued and work to provide alternate selections.
  • Issue Damage & Loss claims to the Director and client on an outlined cadence.
  • Manages project closeouts.

Management & Leadership

  • Actively train and influence Project Coordinators and other team members, as it pertains to procurement management content.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Directors to fully understand service needs and suggest improvements for how we as an agency can work better.
  • Support agency culture through leadership integrity, transparent communication and demonstration of Dessin’s core values.

Technical Skills

  • Purchasing, contracting, sourcing or inventory management (required).
  • Hospitality and construction knowledge (preferred).
  • Experience with complex projects in the luxury and full service sector (preferred).
  • Ability to problem solve, think strategically and have a solution driven mindset.
  • A proven track record of project management experience in organizing, planning, implementing processes and procedures.
  • Current knowledge of hospitality vendors (preferred).
  • Committed to delivering a high level of customer service, both internally and externally.
  • Excellent communication and being able to communicate with different target audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal / teamwork skills; ability to interact effectively with all levels of organization.

Experience & Education

  • 5+ years of progressive work-related experience in project management, procurement, sourcing or design related fields.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Hospitality, Psychology, Human Resources or relevant field. An equivalent combination of education or work-related experience can be reviewed as an exception to education requirements.
  • Hospitality or experience related to Dessin’s services is not required, but strongly encouraged.
  • Experience with Salesforce is a plus.
