Please visit this L.A. Works page – it is a great resource that lists those organizations have requested volunteer help during this time including housing, family support, food and supplies, and animal support organizations, as well as how to donate directly to local food banks, the Salvation Army, and the Wildfire Recovery Fund.
How can you help our local NEWH friends?

Larry Loo, rep for Dunn Edward Paint | Altadena. Larry and his partner Glenda lost their home in Altadena to the Eaton fire of Jan 2025. Larry is the kindest, most humble person I’ve ever met and he was so proud of his home. He was only a few years away from retiring and enjoying the fruits of his endless labor only to have it taken from him in the blink of an eye. He stayed in the home long past evacuation orders in an effort to extinguish whatever he could but ultimately was forced to leave. This money will go towards lodging, clothing, food and any other day to day needs. To quote Larry “while some food items are thoughtful, I don’t even have a pan to cook in, or a bowl to eat out of.” | click here |
Beyond the Classroom – Childcare Scholarships for Fire Victims | As a for-profit organization, I do not have access to grants to cover staff wages, so I am looking to create a fund to provide scholarships for families displaced by the fires. This effort would enable us to offer free or subsidized childcare, giving these families a small reprieve as they begin the difficult process of rebuilding their lives.
While I cannot replace their homes, I hope to provide children with a sense of stability and normalcy during this uncertain time. Having a safe place for their children can allow parents the space and time they need to take their next steps. |

Bunny Museum | The Bunny Museum, open for 27 years, sadly burned to the ground during the historic Eaton Canyon Fire which wiped out much of Altadena, California. The Bunny Museum is known worldwide as the encyclopedic museum about everything bunny. It housed over 60,000 bunny items including antiquity (meaning 2,000 years old), 10 Rose Parade float bunnies, contemporary art, and everything in between. Most of the items were burnt and destroyed. Well, let us clarify that, around 20 items were saved. The museum was marketed as having around 46,000 items, but the truth is that there were more than that as not all was recorded technically in the Catalogue Inventory. But, you can see by online photos from hoppy visitors all bunny items were on display and enjoyed. The Bunny Museum will rebuild on the same land! Your generous donations will only go towards that goal. | click here |
