With more than 30 years of experience spanning food service, hospitality, and hotel operations, Lauren Uthenwoldt has built a career defined by determination, adaptability, and a deep passion for the guest experience.
Lauren’s journey in hospitality began as a teenager, working as a line cook and discovering her love for the fast-paced, high energy environment of the kitchen. Inspired to grow her craft, she went on to attend culinary school and earn her degree from Southern New Hampshire University. Soon after graduation, she joined Marriott as an Assistant Sous Chef, quickly setting a goal of becoming Executive Chef.
Her drive and commitment propelled her through the kitchen brigade, and she ultimately achieved Executive Chef status at several of Marriott’s historic and more complex hotel operations. After mastering the back of the house, Lauren set her sights on new challenges and transitioned to the front of the house as Director of Restaurants at the Renaissance Washington, DC Downtown Hotel.
Eager to broaden her operational impact, she made a pivotal career shift—moving out of food and beverage entirely to become Front Office Manager. She refined her leadership and operational strategy skills during one of the most difficult eras in hospitality, guiding frontline teams through the unprecedented challenges of the COVID 19 pandemic.
