Experiential Trade Fair for Hospitality Design Industry Expected to Double in Size Following Successful 2013 DebutCINCINNATI, OH, December 9, 2013 – Attendee registration is now open for Boutique Design West (BDwest), a multi-faceted trade fair and conference tailored exclusively to hospitality design professionals, March 20-21 at the San Diego Convention Center.

A sister trade fair to the fast-growing Boutique Design New York (BDNY) introduced in 2010, BDwest launched in March, 2013, to serve the West Coast hospitality design market, including Mexico and select countries in Central America. Both events cater to interior designers, architects and purchasing agents working on hospitality projects and hospitality firm owners and operators with design responsibility.

Michelle Finn, president of Hospitality Media Group (HMG), which produces the trade fairs, anticipates a 50% increase in the size of BDwest in year two—to 40,000 nsf of exhibit space, more than 250 exhibitors and sponsors, and some 1500 attendees. Ninety percent of 2013 BDwest exhibitors have already secured space for the 2014 event.

“The overwhelming response to the inaugural event in San Diego proves that design professionals in the western U.S. were ready for a more specialized, experiential trade fair,” Finn said. “BDwest not only showcases inventive design elements for hospitality interiors, but inspires design teams in their use through collaborative, contextual installations and an exciting lineup of design-focused social events and conference sessions.”

Among the events being planned for BDwest 2014: the Opening Night Party celebrating Boutique Design magazine’s annual class of rising stars in hospitality design, the Boutique 18; BD Morning Meetings, pre-arranged, one-to-one meetings between attendees/buyers and exhibitors in their display area during pre-show hours; the NEWH Hospitality Fashion Challenge regional networking event; the signature BD/ISHP Owners Grill session with influential hospitality owners; BD Quest, an on-site design challenge using only products found on the trade fair floor; the Power Players: Women Leaders in Hospitality breakfast and panel discussion, co-sponsored by NEWH; BD Buy, a sale of participating booth products at the close of the trade fair and more.

Both attendee registration and exhibitor information are available at the newly redesigned boutiquedesignwest.com. To learn more about exhibiting at BDwest, contact Boutique Design publisher Michael Schneider at 513.263.9379 or email [email protected].
