We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Multi-Talented specialist in the area of interior design to join our small team. The Designer will play a vital role in our design creations, creating our project deliverables and project management. We are an interior design firm who is hired for both our commercial interior design skills and the purchasing and procurement of FFE for our projects.

You’re a designer who can work on full projects, both new construction and remodels from concept to installation. You are able to accomplish many tasks small to large. You manage client relationships with tact, empathy and an underlying goal of exceptional service. You understand that the pace of our industry ebbs and flows and are willing to put in the additional hours when the job demands it. You are good with schedules and project management. What You’ll Do

At Blount Design, we are small and growing. You will work on multiple projects at various stages of the design process, while efficiently managing deadlines and unexpected challenges. You know how to communicate with a wide variety of clients, architects, vendors, and contractors, and enjoy working with people as much as design. You will also lend input to our systems and how we process and deliver our work. Your input will be valued.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead project team in the creative process to meet client directives, standards, budget and schedule
  • Prepare presentations for clients and brands, as needed
  • Create client budgets and budget options
  • Assist with client meetings
  • Complete conceptual and schematic design phases
  • Create FF&E specification packages
  • Create full sets of ID documents to include plans, elevations, and details
  • Work with procurement companies to ensure the purchasing process goes smoothly
  • Responsible for project management, administration, and observation
  • Process shop drawings and finish material submittals
  • Responsible for effective delegation to other team members
  • Travel as required on a per project basis

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or experience equivalent
  • Minimum 3-5 years of hospitality interior design experience required
  • Mid-Level to Senior Designers or able to be ASID within the year
  • Enthusiastic, articulate and professional
  • A spirit to teach and mentor less experienced designers and interns
  • Ability and adaptability to handle various projects, meet deadlines and change priorities when necessary
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Solid organizational and multi-task skills
  • Experience with creating project budgets and schedules
  • Experience with selecting and sourcing FF&E, and working with manufacturers
  • Exceptional client service
  • Strong presentation creation skills
  • Proficiency in in AutoCAD require, but may also work in Revit, Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suite
  • A desire for work-life balance and flexibility in schedule
  • Ability to handle some purchasing and procurement when needed is a plus

Qualifications:

Our office is currently located in Decatur, Georgia, near the square.

Compensation:

Commensurate with experience level. Junior Designer approximately $65,000, Senior Designer approximately $110,000.
